Family Outings

The weekend before Lilly came, we had quite an adventurous weekend. Probably the LAST thing I needed while 191874983 weeks pregnant, but hey, it was my last horah I guess ;-)

Bobby had a couple of surprises for us Saturday morning. Nothing big, but they made for a really good Saturday for us. First we went to the Lake, to feed the fish. These fish were MUTANT fish! Seriously, probably the ugliest things I've ever seen. Here, take a look for yourself.

Mutant fish, no??

Asside from the fish being mutant fish, we had a nice relaxing morning at the Marina.
Next up was something I've been wanting to take Ryan on for about a year now and just haven't gotten around to it. I've mentioned it to Bobby a few times, so he took it uppon himself to take us :-)
Boulder City has a really cool train ride you can go on. It's part of the tracks of the original Union Pacific, and it was used to bring all the supplies to the dam when it was being built. Since then, there hasn't been much use for it, so the trains run now, only as a tourist attraction. They wear real conductor uniforms, which are so cool that I wish I had one.

The little old man that took our tickets was so cute. He reminded me of my grandpa. Ryan was really excited to give him his ticket, pretty much ran to him and threw his ticket to him.

The train ride goes from Boulder City, pretty much to our house, just on the other side of the freeway. It was a 45 minute ride, and througout the whole thing they give you cool history and some fun trivia. We played while we were on the ride, so I didn't absorb too much of what was said. Ryan really enjoyed himself, and I thought it was really cool. I'm a sucker for cool museums and fun history, though, and my husband is well aware of my dorkiness.
Ryan in the window sill of the train. Any smaller and this big kid wouldn't have fit! Man he's getting big! You see those long muscular legs???

Hubs did a good job of planning this fun outing. +10 points to him!
